What is a DZ License?
The Ontario Ministry of Transportation states that A driver who holds a DZ License Training Course in Brampton is allowed to drive a motor vehicle overreaching gross weight or enlisted gross weight of 11,000 kilograms (24,000 lb), or any combination of motor vehicle exceeding a total gross weight or enlisted gross weight of 11,000 kilograms (24,000 lb) and any towed vehicle not exceeding a total gross weight of 4,600 kilograms (10,000 lb).

WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM Prerequisites FOR ACQUIRING A DZ LICENSE?
For applying for a Class D License,
1. The driver must be of at least 18 years of age
2. The Driver must possess a valid license other than G1, G2, M, M1, or M2.
3. The Driver must have passed a vision test
4. The Driver must have submitted a medical report
5. The Driver has cleared a knowledge test about operating large trucks.
6. The driver has cleared a road test using a vehicle that is eligible for Class D.
HOW TO PASS THE “DZ” ENDORSEMENT TEST?
There is a fixed criteria for being eligible to drive an air brake equipped motor vehicle; the driver must have a Z endorsement on his license, and in order to get that-
the first step is to Clear the Air Brake Knowledge Test-
· It is a practical test that examines the driver’s knowledge and skills required to drive vehicles with air brakes; this test can be taken by the driver at any Drive Test center and is to be scheduled online.
The second step is to clear the DZ Air Brake Endorsement Course-
· This course can be acquired from a vehicle fleet owner company or from community colleges and other safety organizations. It is generally a 10.5-hour course for Class D or Class G license holders, and after successful completion of the course, the referral envelope can be presented at any Drive Test Centre where they add Z endorsement to your existing license.
